Reclaim Oklahoma Parent Empowerment Becomes The ROPE Report

- note: This blog will remain our repository for all our work prior to 2015, so the name will remain Reclaim Oklahoma Parent Empowerment. You can find ROPE Report website and www.rope2.org

Back in 2008, as President Obama took his seat in history, several of us realized that something was not right with the world. We created an organization called, the OKC912Project and were deep into learning the way the legislation and elections worked, when we also realized that there was something rotten in Oklahoma’s public education system.

I had four of my five kids in Quail Creek Elementary – in fact, we’d sold our modest home in The Village (an older neighborhood in Oklahoma City) to move to Quail Creek just so my kids could go to the WONDERFUL school where I’d learned as a child.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as I’d planned. There, my kids were taught Global Warming as fact, they weren’t actually educated much, and one was mercilessly bullied by his teacher and fellow students.

By the time 2nd grade ended for my oldest child, he was moved to homeschool. The rest were moved home the next year and, as parents, we never looked back.
In 2010, a friend from OKC912Project and I started a group called Restore Oklahoma Public Education (ROPE). We naively believed that if we shone light on the antics of public school, we could ‘restore’ it to the way it was before political correctness (DEI/SEL) and propagandist teaching standards.

One of our first jobs was removing Common Core State Standards from law. It took four years of lobbying a Republican legislature to scrap just one of Obama’s federal education initiatives (Governor Mary Fallin and State Superintendent Janet Barresi brought in every single one of them). Though it was successfully repealed from Oklahoma law, we learned the hard way that the repeal was meaningless in practice and schools carried on as they had been before.

Frustrated and realizing we were going to have to go at public school reform in a different way, we renamed ourselves Reclaim Oklahoma Parent Empowerment in 2015, making use of our previous initials and agreeing to focus more on educating parents about Oklahoma’s public education system and how to make changes at the local level.

Sadly, we were never able to gain a lot of traction with parents. No matter how many places we spoke, no matter how many times we explained the importance of the local school board, there seemed to be little effect.

In April of 2023, new Board Member Michael Grande, Board Member Julia Seay and I, started what Julia dubbed, “The ROPE Report” – a podcast. Something we’d never tried before, but seemed to be something God was calling us to do, when I got the impression several times over the week of Christmas in 2022, “my people perish for lack of knowledge”.

I had always been the primary writer and researcher, but that was our focus – the written word. With the world turning to the point that few people even read for longer than five minutes at a time, but would watch endless hours of TikTok videos, it seemed the next logical step. We kept the name Reclaim Oklahoma Parent Empowerment, but moved to a two-day-a-week podcast on Wednesdays and Fridays – The ROPE Report.

This change ushered in a different way of doing things altogether. Instead of really focusing on researching and writing, we were bringing in people who had important information about important topics affecting our state. We’d interview them for as little as an hour or as much as two. It was – and still is – very organic, not driven by time, but by what’s being said – how we can help viewers gain knowledge to make changes to increase our individual liberty here in the state.

After nearly two years now, the focus of ROPE is no longer parents, or education, but ALL things Oklahoma, from climate change to legislation, we try to find interviews with interesting people to educate viewers. Consequently, it just made sense to change our name to the ROPE Report.

Today, you’ll see our new logo on our social media pages and website, but we’ll still be the same group we’ve strived to be from the beginning – a source of news and information you can turn to that will report the truth the best we can about the things that affect you in your own back yard, right here in Oklahoma.

We’re glad you’ve been with us for the ride, but STAY TUNED, there’s lots more to come.

Green Energy ISN'T Based On Free Market Capitalism - It's CRONY Capitalism

Friday, January 10th, Peter Murphy from CFACT.org talked with ROPE Report about the climate scam. One of the worst things to take government by storm, is this idea that stopping the green agenda impedes free market capitalism. Unfortunately, so many - including legislators - don't know the difference between Free Market and Crony Capitalism. Here, Peter makes it VERY clear.

Here, Peter explains that the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) was just a present to his cronies - a kind of 'climate gravy train' for them to find ways to collect federal subsidies.

Parents: Blurry Boundaries Hurt Kids

Our guest on Wednesday, January 8th, was Kendra Wesson, Oklahoma State School Board member. Today, we talked about a whole LOT of things, but the one thing we talked about that is the most important to parents was this conversation about how allowing kids to have boundaries that blur the line between kid and adult can really cause the kid to get blindsided by things such as sexual molestation by a teacher or coach. Watch this short video and then find the full live video on our Rumble and YouTube channels.

A Visit With The Women of Broken Trust - What You Don't Know Can Hurt Your Kids and Your Family

In the video above, Sherrie tells us that because of Oklahoma government and private companies, we've essentially put price tags on the heads of our kids. We're not educating them anymore, we're selling them as commodities to vendors who want to use them to make money.

In the video below, Roberta Lewis tells the story of how her son was essentially kidnapped from her family and put into a state mental health facility because of a SnapChat post. If this doesn't show you how much power our government has - that it shouldn't have - I don't know what will.

To follow up our post, we reiterate the fact that children are not being cared for or taught so much in Oklahoma anymore, unless there is a way to make money from them. This has to stop.

Schools Know About Trans Teachers - Why Not Parents?

"Mary" at V1SUT Vantage talks to us about a woman who biologically transitioned to a man and is teaching at Western Heights Public Schools - where trans activist and drag queen Shawn Murnan (the Drag Queen Principal) and a Chinese immigrant who was caught soliciting 15-year-old boys - used to work. Administration must have known about this teacher, why were parents not told? Is it right for parents not to know this information? Shouldn't ALL tax payers be concerned about the people working with Oklahoma's children? Why is it so hard to find out this kind of information?
Mary also spoke with us about a teacher who had been born a female, but medically transitioned to a male. was a teacher at Western Heights Public Schools in Oklahoma. Because records are held independently - one record for the female name, one record for the male name - it was very hard to find a connecting paper trail to connect the female to the teacher in the classroom who presented as a male to the class, parents and administration. Don't parents have a right to know if their child's teacher is not presenting as their birth sex? What about another male using the bathroom with a woman presenting as a man? What about male students in the bathroom with this teacher presenting as a male, but who is biologically female? ANY public school should be transparent about who is working with the children attending that school, yet they are not.

In the end, Mary reached out to Ryan Walters and other Oklahoma public education officials - including the teacher herself - to ask how this situation of a trans teacher would be addressed under current law.
She received absolutely no comment back from anyone to whom she reached out. Whether people want to talk about this situation or not, parents have the right to know if a person teaching their child is not presenting as their biological sex. Why is this being dealt with silently? How can parents find out whether their child's teacher is not what they portray publicly?

All these questions need answers...

In Oklahoma, Both Legislators AND Citizens Can File To Stop Property Taxes

In our LIVE podcast with Oklahoma Representative Jay Steagall, Michael and Jenni talked about how to remove the scourge of liberty that is property taxes. (YouTube, Rumble) Truly, if your home can be taken from you by the government for non-payment of taxes, the Founders of this country may well have not created a Constitution at all. Our entire system of government is predicated on individual liberty and there is no liberty if a citizen is simply renting his property from the government and cannot own the results of his own industry. In this clip, Jay tells us that both lawmakers and citizens can work to place a question on the ballot that would remove the allowance for collection of property taxes from the Oklahoma Constitution. As was discussed throughout the LIVE video (found under the LIVE tab on this channel) was the fact that, a use tax is a far better tax than the UNCONSTITUTIONAL collection of EITHER property taxes or income taxes and both of these must be removed from Oklahoma citizens as the burden to individual liberty that they are.

Jay Steagall Files Bill To Eliminate Income Tax

This short is from our LIVE podcast with Jay on Wednesday, 12.11.24 called, "Let's Talk About Property Taxes" which can be found under the "Live" tab on our channel. (Live links at YouTube and Rumble) This is the copy from the House Media Office regarding his bill: Steagall Files Bill to Eliminate Income Tax by 2035 OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Jay Steagall, R-Yukon, today filed legislation to phase out Oklahoma's personal and corporate income taxes over a decade, with the goal of eliminating the tax entirely by 2035. House Bill 1009 would reduce the personal income tax rate by 0.00475% annually and the corporate income tax rate by 0.004% annually over 10 years. Steagall had filed a nearly identical bill, House Bill 3058, for consideration during the 2024 legislative session. "Recent polls show that Oklahomans overwhelmingly support the elimination of the state income tax, an effort for which I have filed legislation in the past two years and filing once again for the 60th Legislature," Steagall said. "The state income tax is a clear violation of our own state constitution and I will continue to pursue righting this wrong in the upcoming session." Steagall pointed to Article 2, Section 2 of the Oklahoma Constitution, which declares "all persons have the inherent right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the enjoyment of the gains of their own industry." He said income taxes go against the foundation of the state constitution and encroach on Oklahomans' liberties. The state income tax was created statutorily in 1915. Stegall noted that the gradual reduction over a decade would give the Legislature ample opportunity to act on tax reform, a move he said was "much-needed."

Wind Turbines And Conservation Easements - Tax Scam Upon Tax Scam

John Baca, a real estate attorney from Hughes county, Oklahoma, talked to Jenni and Michael about the wind turbine companies coming into Hughes county and urging people to sign leases to place the turbines. Beyond the fact that the electricity generated from these nuisance monstrosities is shipped OUT OF THE STATE, the contracts create easements on the person's property that can be used in perpetuity by whomever the wind company designates. In addition, it appears that the wind companies are cashing in on something called Syndicated Conservation Easements, explained by ProPublica, below: The syndicated versions are different. Instead of seeking to protect a bucolic reserve for wildlife or humans, profit-seeking intermediaries have turned the likes of abandoned golf courses or remote scrubland into high-return investment vehicles. These promoters snatch up vacant land that till then was worth little. Then they hire an appraiser willing to declare that it has huge, previously unrecognized development value — perhaps for luxury vacation homes or a solar farm — and thus is really worth many times its purchase price. The promoters sell stakes in the donation to individuals, who claim charitable deductions that are four or five times their investment. The promoters reap millions in fees. (https://www.propublica.org/article/syndicated-conservation-easement-irs-tax-scam) Wind turbine development in Oklahoma must stop. The Oklahomans who sign leases to turbine companies for turbine easements on their land may reap a windfall at first, but they soon find that they'll never really own the land on which the turbines are built and, as John says, the lack of transparency surrounding the lease agreements eventually harms the land owner.

Wind Turbines Ruin Quiet County Thanks To Absentee Land Owners

11.22.24, Jenni and Michael interviewed John Baca, a real estate attorney from Hughes County, Oklahoma. Along with hundreds of his neighbors, John has been fighting the placement of wind turbines throughout the county - 42 THOUSAND acres signed away by 42 people. County Commissioners have been no help - they simply say they can't regulate what a person wants to do on their own property - however, wind turbines are more than a nuisance as John explains. Wind turbines should not be placed on the property of someone who doesn't live on the property - let alone in the county - so that it effects other property owners but not them.

Wind Subsidies Are Destroying The Natural Gas Market In Oklahoma

Natural gas is clean, efficient and available in Oklahoma through companies that live and work AND PAY TAXES in Oklahoma.

Natural gas companies get no subsidies and the wind generation in the state - so much of which is sent OUT OF STATE because Oklahoma already has more energy than we can use - which are very heavily subsidized, are destroying the market for natural gas. Why are we allowing this to happen in Oklahoma - a natural gas state?

Oklahoma Is Getting Used By Wind Generation Companies And We're Letting Them

Our guest for 11.20.24 was Chad McDougall, Chair of the Oklahoma Petroleum Alliance. We discussed the differences between fossil fuels and renewables.

Oklahoma generates more energy than we use, and oil and gas pay millions in taxes to the state, yet wind generation gets millions in tax subsidies and ships their energy out of the state. WHAT. IS. GOING. ON?

Carbon Capture Scam Explained

Friday, November 15th, Julianne Romanello came on with Michael and Jenni to talk about Carbon Credits - what they are and what they are supposed to do.

Julianne takes the time to explain what Carbon Capture is - that it is a part of the desire to develop hydrogen fuels. Hydrogen produces hydrocarbons that - if they can be sequestered, or pulled out of the atmosphere - will make hydrogen look like a very green fuel. Thus the impetus for developing carbon capture plants and CO2 pipelines.

Julianne puts the whole picture together - the big oil companies are doing this in their quest to create hydrogen fuels and they are getting big investors to fuel their work, leaving taxpayers completely at their mercy.

Republicans Are Pushing The Green Agenda In Oklahoma

Though Republicans are supposed to be skeptical of 'climate change' - it's even in our state Republican platform if anyone would read it - Oklahoma Republicans have been writing laws to allow for expanding green energy markets in Oklahoma.

Carbon sequestration is about nothing more than money - AND LOTS OF IT. Big businesses and the mega rich - like Bono - are donating to companies that are working on the 'new' economy of carbon taxes and sequestration of carbon dioxide.

Here, we run through a couple of names Trump is considering for appointments in his administration. Sadly, at least one of them has ties to climate change and the green new deal.

Oklahoma Is In Trouble When It Comes To Sex Abuse Of Students In Public Schools

Wednesday, November 13th, Michael and Jenni talked to V1SUT substack author Mary about why it is that there have been so many student abusers in Oklahoma public schools - both accused and convicted. Mary says that two reasons stand out - 1. Oklahoma has no "pass the trash" legislation. When a public school employee is accused of sexual misconduct in one school system, they just move to another and start again. Such is the case of Brent McGee in Wetumka (https://v1sut.substack.com/p/ungrooming-an-oklahoma-town-arrest) but there are many more examples. 2. Oklahoma needs to change the statute of limitations on child sex crimes. Victims often can't reconcile sex crimes committed by Oklahoma public school employees until later on in life. Adults should be able to sue the public school of the employee for longer than the 2 years currently in statute.

Without addressing these issues, Oklahoma students cannot be considered safe from sexual predation. Please follow V1SUT's substack for more information - V1SUT.com
