Wind Turbines Ruin Quiet County Thanks To Absentee Land Owners

11.22.24, Jenni and Michael interviewed John Baca, a real estate attorney from Hughes County, Oklahoma. Along with hundreds of his neighbors, John has been fighting the placement of wind turbines throughout the county - 42 THOUSAND acres signed away by 42 people. County Commissioners have been no help - they simply say they can't regulate what a person wants to do on their own property - however, wind turbines are more than a nuisance as John explains. Wind turbines should not be placed on the property of someone who doesn't live on the property - let alone in the county - so that it effects other property owners but not them.

Lack of Transparency, Danger, Fuels Concerns About Enid Solar Installation - ROPE Report Short

NeAnne Clinton, a resident of Enid, Oklahoma, came on the program today to talk about NextEra's decision to attempt to create a 10 thousand acre solar installation on the south side of Enid between the municipal airport and Vance Airforce Base.

What we learned was shocking. 

From lack of transparency (at least one contract being signed without benefit of an open meeting) and fudging of reported 'profits' (essentially, NextEra saying that the installation would bring in 63 million dollars in value to the City of Enid, but then not saying that the return would come solely from an increase in property taxes) to unaddressed safety concerns, Enid citizens are rightly angry and want the project scrapped. 

As we talk about in the video, 'green' energy is usurping private property, generating more landfill because it can't be recycled, using toxic and flammable constituents that create hazards for humans and wildlife alike and scamming citizens of tax dollars. IT MUST BE STOPPED.

You Must Speak Out - Robbie McCommas; ROPE Report Short

When we tell people that they have to speak out to make changes in the events taking place around them, they say one (or all) of three things: 1. I don't know what to do 2. I don't have time 3. I don't know what to say. 

Robbie McCommas, faced with staring down wind turbines around her property, decided to go to a community meeting being held by the wind energy company attempting to sign on farms for wind turbines, though she hadn't been invited. 

Not only did she attend, but when it came time for comments or questions, she stood up and told a story about what happened to their friends when wind turbines took over the property around them. 

After that, she collected two pages of signatures from attendees which later turned into a Facebook page and another community meeting to stop wind turbines in their county.
