Suggestion: Former Oklahoma State Senator Anthony Sykes For Oklahoma Attorney General

Oklahoma's Attorney General, Mike Hunter has resigned as of June 1st.

Sadly, the Biden administration has made it their special job to overturn and undo as many conservative Executive Orders made from the former President’s desk they possibly can.

As this trend at the federal level will only continue unabated, it will be VERY important then, for Governor Stitt to appoint an Oklahoma stalwart who has a record of protecting Oklahomans from government overreach.

Toward that end, we’d like to suggest that our Governor consider attorney and former state Senator, Anthony Sykes, as an EXCELLENT appointment to the position of Attorney General.

I met Senator Sykes while a citizen lobbyist against Common Core from 2010 through 2015.  He was very much against – not only the nationalization of curricula CC proved to be – but the data collection piece of the Common Core puzzle.  In fact, he was instrumental in helping us create legislation to impede the collection of personal data from Oklahoma’s school children and we’ll never be able to thank him enough for his service in this important fight.

Anthony Sykes graduated from OU law school in 1996 and has had 21 years of experience in civil and criminal law.

During his tenure in the Oklahoma Senate (2006 to 2018), where he served as Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee (2010-2018), Sykes didn’t merely stand for educational liberty, he authored – and helped pass – a great number of bills which helped to make Oklahoma a more conservative state and has a Conservative Index score of 94% over this Senate career.

In addition, Sykes authored and voted for numerous pro Second Amendment bills – including Constitutional Carry (vetoed by then-Governor Mary Fallin) which lead to an A+ rating by the NRA.

He authored a bill to clean up Oklahoma’s voter roles of non-citizen voters and created Marsy’s Law to protect victims of crimes through the judicial process.

Clearly, Sykes is not only a conservative choice for AG, but one with a record to prove just that.

It is for this reason we ask Governor Stitt to review former Senator Sykes for the role of Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma.
